WE WILL NOT FAIL - A Tribute to American Spirit
DURING THIS CEREMONY AT THE NEW YORK CITY FIRE MUSEUM, firefighters and families received checks from World Trade Center Miracles Foundation, which was set up to help fire fighters, police officers and other rescuers who were injured while working at Ground Zero. On this day, Don Scafidi donated the painting, which hangs in the museum's permanent collection. A Limited Edition of Signed and Numbered Lithographs were donated to Rescuers, Firemen and Firehouses and Police Stations nationwide. Now Scafidi has issued a new limited edition series the 10th anniversary of the disaster. Scafidi says, "we must never forget.' For more on Don Scafidi's WWNF statement, click here.
THE PAINTING depicts the foremost foreign attacks on U.S. soil--The Battleship Arizona going down at Pearl Harbor and and the Twin Towers under attack. More importantly, by depicting the raising of the United States Flag at Iwo Jima and in front of the fallen towers, Scafidi illustrates and pays homage to a steadfast American Spirit .
WE SALUTE our firefighters, first responders, soldiers, veterans and all others who have been of service to our country in our hours of need. For more information about the We Will Not Fail Print, click the 9/11 link below.
